Tree and Road Work to Begin June 4, 2021 on Baltimore Street

Beginning June 4, New Enterprise will be trimming trees along Baltimore Street. Additionally, on the evenings of June 6 and 7, the company will be doing base repairs. Residents should expect major traffic delays during this time.

Gavin Baker Receives Mayoral Citation for His Augusta National Performance

At the May 3 Borough Council Meeting, Mayor Ben Thomas, Jr. presented Gavin Baker with a Mayoral Citation in recognition of his participation in the 2021 Drive, Chip, and Putt National Finals at Augusta National, home of the Masters Tournament. Gavin placed fifth at the April 4, 2021 event.

PennDOT Roadwork to Begin May 11 on Buchanan Trail West

UPDATE

The resurfacing project on Route 16, Buchanan Trail, is expected to begin Tuesday, May 11.

There will be short-term lane closures Monday through Friday. No lane closures are permitted during peak hours of 6 to 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 to 6 p.m. Motorists should be alert and drive with caution through the work zone.

Work is expected to be completed by September 17, 2021.

(Greencastle, PA) New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company, Inc. has been awarded a contract for roadwork on Route 16 within the Borough beginning in late April. The work includes milling, resurfacing, base repair, guiderail replacement, drainage upgrades, signing and pavement markings, and other construction as outlined in the contract. The project is expected to be complete by mid-September 2021.

“Borough staff are working with project officials to ensure accurate timelines are communicated to our community regarding this project,” said Borough Manager Emilee Little. “As information is relayed to us, we will share this with our residents via our website and Facebook page.”
